    2025 Regular Legislative Session:

    That's a Wrap
Last Monday, June 2nd, Nebraska's 109th Legislature, First Session, adjourned sine die, the 89th day of a 90-day session. The Legislature adjourned one legislative day early following the Governor's commitment to report all bills presented to him by June 2. Since convening on January 8, senators managed to pass 204 bills, with provisions of 113 additional bills amended into other legislative items that also made it across the proverbial finish line. Certainly the session’s defining episode was adoption of the biennium budget, an ongoing process that began with a $432 million deficit target that moved up-and-down numerous times throughout the year.

We'll check back in later to give you a more robust legislative recap as well as our annual Results for Business in July, but for now, give this Bill in Brief a watch for session highlights. After all, it is the last Bill in Brief of the session!
