    Administrative Assistant - Building and Zoning

     

    Gretna, Nebraska is a booming City of the First Class located in Sarpy County and the Omaha Metro. With the expansion of the City’s corporate limits and Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ), additional staff are necessary to meet the demands of growth and development happening in the Gretna service area. 

    The Administrative Assistant - Building and Zoning position creates the added depth of staffing levels needed to meet this growing community. The position is responsible for providing administrative support for the city’s building & zoning function; serving as the first contact for customers, citizens, and developers needing assistance; implementing and utilizing department permitting software; as well as serving as liaison between the public and professional staff. In addition to administrative support services, the position includes advanced education and training for permitting expertise. The position reports to the Building & Zoning Director.

    Education & Experience:

    • High School diploma or GED equivalent 
    • Minimum of two years  administrative experience, prefer experience in a municipal or government agency
    • Must be willing to obtain further education, training, and certification as deemed appropriate and within a time frame established by the employer
    • Valid driver’s license

    This is an exciting time to join the City of Gretna team to aid in visioning and implementing the future of Gretna.
